Local evidence before clinical AI scales
VitaSignal helps health systems determine whether the documentation pathway beneath one proposed clinical AI use case has enough local evidence to advance responsibly.
- See what the local data can and cannot support.
- Resolve evidence gaps and control requirements before expansion.
- Give governance leaders one versioned package for a Proceed, Modify, Pause, or Stop decision.
Free 30-minute qualification and scoping conversation. Do not send PHI or other patient-level data. No data transfer or custom written deliverable is included.
How the process runs
- 01Scope
- 02Data readiness
- 03Evidence review
- 04Risk and controls
- 05Recommendation
- 06Governance decision
Retrospective or approved read-only review comes first. Later observational work requires prespecified evidence gates and separate written authorization.
The question is not whether a model performs well somewhere.
It is whether your local documentation pathway is reliable, interpretable, and understood enough to justify the next decision.
Where teams look first
- EHR activity and efficiency reports
- Staff feedback and workflow huddles
- Vendor documentation
- Internal analytics
- Quality, safety, privacy, and governance review
VitaSignal is relevant only when those sources leave a consequential evidence gap.
What VitaSignal provides
VitaSignal provides a bounded retrospective or approved read-only evaluation for one named clinical AI use case. The output is a Governance Decision Package for accountable human review. Any later observational or silent-mode work requires prespecified evidence gates and separate written authorization. The work is research-stage, is not production clinical software, and does not direct patient care.
01
Define one use case, accountable decision owner, workflow, and evidence question.
02
Examine timing, provenance, missingness, mapping, documentation context, and unresolved uncertainty.
03
Preserve supporting, null, adverse, conflicting, blocked, and unavailable evidence with safeguards and stop rules.
04
Produce a human-reviewed recommendation to Proceed, Modify, Pause, or Stop.
How it works
Three ordered steps for one named clinical AI use case, bounded in writing before any review begins.
Step 01
Define the Evaluation
One named clinical AI use case, its intended use, permitted and prohibited uses, the decision on the table, the decision owner, the deadline, and the unresolved question. Stopping conditions are agreed in writing first.
Step 02
Assess Readiness and Evidence
A bounded retrospective or approved read-only review of data readiness, available evidence, uncertainty, material risks, and required controls for that use case only.
Step 03
Produce the Governance Decision Package
A versioned written package stating what the evidence supports, what remains uncertain or blocked, and a Proceed, Modify, Pause, or Stop recommendation for internal governance review.
A recommendation does not authorize deployment. It does not authorize clinical use, production integration, or any change to patient care. VitaSignal recommends; the health system decides.
Deliverable
What the organization receives
An approved engagement gives the organization a Governance Decision Package that states what the available evidence supports, what remains uncertain or blocked, and whether the named clinical AI use case should Proceed, Modify, Pause, or Stop.
The engagement is bounded and time-limited. Scope and duration are set in the written Statement of Work and depend on site approvals, data readiness, and the named use case.
1.Decision summary
The named use case, the decision on the table, and who owns it.
2.Evidence inventory and source boundaries
Which records, fields, and time windows were available, and which were not.
3.Supported, mixed, null or adverse, blocked, and not-run findings
Every result is reported in its own class. Negative and blocked findings are preserved.
4.Documentation-pathway map
Timing, availability, missingness, duplication, provenance, and mapping variation for that use case only.
5.Limitations and unresolved questions
What could not be evaluated, and what would be required to evaluate it.
6.Proceed, Modify, Pause, or Stop recommendation
A written recommendation for internal governance review. VitaSignal does not make the decision.
7.Owners, stopping conditions, and next-evidence requirements
Accountable owners, rollback or stopping conditions, and the evidence required before any next step.
8.Study-created burden record
Where applicable, the staff time spent on review, approvals, data preparation, interpretation, and governance participation.
Fields under consideration for future implementation
- Patient-disclosure decision, rationale, and owner.
- Consent decision, governing authority, rationale, and owner.
- Appropriate-reliance and human-factors risks.
- Incident and near-miss reporting route, threshold, owner, and preservation rule.
- Post-implementation monitoring plan covering drift, subgroup performance, workflow change, review interval, and stopping threshold.
These are fields for consideration or future implementation. They are not completed product capabilities and no validated outcome is claimed.
This is the structure of the deliverable, not a completed customer example and not proof of any outcome. No clinical, patient, workflow, staffing, fairness, ROI, savings, security, integration, or deployment benefit is established.
Founder-delivered engagements
VitaSignal was founded by Alexis Collier, a healthcare administrator and clinical AI researcher focused on fairness, nursing workflow, and responsible implementation.
Scope, data pathway, prohibited uses, and stopping rules are written down before any work starts.
How engagements are scopedOpen to a qualified healthcare organization design partner
Current status: scoping conversations are in progress, and a limited number of design-partner conversations are accepted each month. No engagement, outcome, or organizational relationship is implied.
Scoping queue
Reviewed monthly, with a small number of conversations held open at a time.
Next review window
Requests received this month are reviewed in the next scoping window.
VitaSignal works with qualified healthcare organizations. Examples include hospitals, health systems, clinics, care-delivery networks, and appropriately governed clinical research organizations. Fit is determined case by case during scoping. Suitability is not universal and depends on the named use case, available documentation, governance structures, and applicable approvals.
A design-partner discussion covers workflow questions, data feasibility, and governance requirements. A pilot proceeds only when scoping justifies it, and all terms require a separate written agreement.
